Listen to Patricia Blake share her vast experiences and personal testimony serving over thirty-three years in the field, promoting through the ranks of patrol officer to lieutenant, Acting Detective commanding officer and Acting patrol commanding officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, in the City of Angels. During her career, Patricia was the Officer in Charge (OIC) of several successful specialized units, including a Special Problems Unit, a gang unit, parolee unit, and a volunteer mounted cavalry unit. For Patricia, and the majority of first responders, including police, fire, EMT, medics and military, she believes it is a true Calling to protect the innocent and the vulnerable, and to make a difference. She realized her story may impact people’s lives in times of sheer terror, desperation, or tragedy and hopes her story will inspire and give others strength, courage, hope and faith to overcome adversity. Patricia believes God sends angels to protect, shield and watch over our first responders; and that our first responders are sent t by God to protect, shield and watch over those in desperate need and danger. Patricia references the Old Testament Bible 6:8, where the Lord asks “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” and the prophet Isaiah responded, “Send me!” just as the majority of every one of our first responders, without any hesitation, responds “SEND ME.”
